Mikayla Magee is a multidisciplinary artist based in Dallas, Texas. Her practice includes oil painting, illustration, woodworking, and murals, and centers on themes of individuality, growth, and self-exploration. Through portraiture and organic forms, Magee examines identity in relation to memory, environment, and personal history.

She earned a BFA in Communication Design from Texas State University in 2021, where studio coursework introduced her to oil painting and renewed her commitment to traditional artmaking. A pivotal shift in her practice occurred during her time at The Cedars Union, where she transitioned from canvas to carved and shaped wood, expanding her approach to materiality and narrative structure.

Magee has exhibited across DFW, Atlanta, GA, Manhattan, NY, and Miami, FL. Her work invites viewers into a contemplative space that holds vulnerability and strength, reflecting the continual process of growth and becoming.
