She earned a BFA in Communication Design from Texas State University in 2021, where studio coursework introduced her to oil painting and renewed her commitment to traditional artmaking. A pivotal shift in her practice occurred during her time at Cedars Union, where she transitioned from canvas to carved and shaped wood, expanding her approach to materiality and narrative structure.
